We are all very aware of our privilege, and we’re grateful that we are able to enjoy the sun, fun, and after-dark frolics here on the white isle every summer. But it got us thinking. While we are busy dancing our hearts out in Freddies every night, would it not be great if we could also help make a difference to those in Ibiza who are less fortunate? Earlier this season, we put pen to paper, or rather fingers to keyboard, to share our Pikes Ibiza charity fundraising plans supporting a variety of local organisations chosen by our team that carry out vital charitable work here in Ibiza.

Our guest-listed events at Pikes have always, and will always, be free. However, each night we have been working hand in hand with representatives from each organisation to collect entry donations from everyone on our guestlist, with 100% of every contribution going directly to those who need it.

Now that the end of the season is here, we are delighted to share that with your generosity, together we have raised an incredible €600,000 for these local causes.

From all of us at Pikes, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to all who donated, and for your support in helping these vital island services continue to care for those in need behind the scenes. It takes a village, and we are part of the village. Keep digging deep, dancing hard, and feeling good.

We have updated our original blog below with words from each organisation to show you exactly where your generosity is making a difference.

Pikes Ibiza charity fundraising

APFEM
 – Asociación Pitiusa Pro Salud Mental

This is the big-hearted local organisation that works tirelessly to help improve the quality of life for people with a diagnosis of mental health or developmental disorders, along with supporting their families. Here in Ibiza, their main objective is to help those with disabilities integrate into society, facilitate their autonomy and raise awareness in both public and private services – APFEM, we salute you!

Since receiving their donations… Antonia Díaz Torrente, Director of Mental Health and Social Exclusion at APFEM, said:

“Raising awareness is one of our main missions, in addition to supporting people with mental illness and their families. Pikes’ contribution will help us continue organizing events and projects to increase awareness and understanding in our community.”

AFAEF Asociación de Familiares de Enfermos de Alzheimer d’Eivissa y Formentera

We all know that Alzheimer’s Disease is a truly heartbreaking medical diagnosis on many levels, due to the ways it affects not just the person living with the disease, but their loved ones too. AFAEF is a non-profit organisation in Ibiza and Formentera that strives to help improve the living situations of those living with and those affected by Alzheimer’s – patients, families and caregivers alike – with a respite unit and headquarters designed to provide multi-care services including therapy, psychology, home care, physical support and much, much more. A truly humbling and honorable cause.

Since receiving their donations… Rosa María Sánchez, President of AFAEF, said:

“We are so happy to be here. When Javier Riesco contacted us last year, showing interest in our work, we were struggling; now we can breathe again. His initial goal was to ensure that we no longer had to pay rent for our headquarters. Thanks to this contribution, we can also bring back our respite workshop, which will be free thanks to Pikes. And I still dream of creating the ‘Sun Corner,’ a space in the countryside for outdoor workshops and planting. I’m still searching for it.”

AEMIF – Asociación de Esclerosis Múltiple de Ibiza y Formentera

A day centre and non-profit association that cares for people in Ibiza and Formentera with physical disabilities caused by acquired brain damage, spinal cord injury and/or neurodegenerative diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Sclerosis. Lateral Amyotrophic or Huntington’s Chorea, among others. Run by a team of dedicated and passionate professionals – including team members affected by neurogenerative diseases themselves – AEMIF approaches its services from a humanistic perspective, leading by example with workshops, group activities, individual therapies and sessions and so much more.

Since receiving the donations… César Castelló Gordillo, President of AEMIF, stated:

“Our association works to find resources to treat the aftereffects of the disease. We’ve gone through all kinds of stages, but now we’re doing fairly well. We currently serve 150 people. The association’s annual expenses are 1.2 million euros. Pikes’ support allowed us to hire a full-time physiotherapist, which helped us reduce our waiting list.”

Fundación Conciencia Ibiza

A non-profit foundation run by Alba Pau, a long-term friend of the Pikes family, Fundación Conciencia Ibiza provides help for children who suffer abuse, exploitation, assault, rape or sexual abuse. Working alongside families, social workers, lawyers, psychologists, mediators, public administration officials and other non-profit organisations, the team are dedicated to improving the child protection system, promoting coaching for parents, support for families whose children are in detention centres and providing support to those in velnerable situations.

Since receiving their donations… Marisina Marí, President of the Fundación Conciencia Ibiza, said:

“We are very grateful to Pikes for this opportunity — it has been a wonderful experience that helped us raise more than in any other event or campaign on the island. We rebuild families, because a child alone cannot recover — and that takes a lot of funding. Pikes’ donation gives us peace of mind, covering our basic expenses and allowing us to confidently take on more cases. We don’t have a waiting list, but we need our own social educator and psychologist to support our child abuse program.”

Alba Pau, a member of the foundation’s board, added: “With your donation, we can cover another salary.”

IFCC Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association

This non-governmental, non-profit organisation is dedicated to the fight against this disease in the Pitiusas, and ensures that each and every contribution made to the cause stays in the Pitiusas (the islands of Ibiza and Formentera) and reaches those in need in our local areas. Made up entirely of volunteers, the association creates prevention and early detection programmes to support cancer patients and their families throughout all stages of the illness, providing services such as financial assistance, psyhcological support, transport, orthopaedic equipment and more, completely free of charge.

Since receiving their donations… Beryl Jones, spokesperson and volunteer of IFCC, said:

“When a doctor diagnoses cancer, a complex journey begins as patients try to lead a normal life. We are there to accompany them — offering financial help for those who can’t work, practical help for logistical challenges, and support such as translators, home assistance for patients without families, and specific treatments. Our dream is to help also in the final stages of life. Thanks to Pikes’ support, we will be able to do so, launching a home-care service starting in 2026 in one municipality.”

In addition to these five chosen charities, we’ll continued to support MPT (Mercury Phoenix Trust) in the fight against HIV and AIDS through our annual Freddie Rocks fundraising event, and we also partnered with our friends from Care4Cats on one-off events, as we have in the past. Nerea Fernández, a volunteer with Ibiza Care4Cats, stated:

“We work for the welfare of lost and abandoned cats, which is a major problem on the island — people say there are more cats than humans here. No other country in Europe faces this issue. In Ibiza, many cats suffer on the streets, and many died during recent storms. Thanks to Pikes’ help last year, we were able to sterilize 300 cats. This new donation will help us continue. Thank you, Pikes, for caring about the island’s cats and supporting us.”

Thank you again for helping us to make a difference to the island that we call home and many of you visit and love each and every summer. We can’t wait to continue to make a difference together for many years to come. Until next year…
